Midday Jam Session Thoughts 🎶

Have you ever heard Bazzi’s song “Conversations with myself”? (Most people know him for the songs 3:15 or Mine)

In this song he talks about how he thought being rich, having nice cars, and a nice house would give him happiness. That being loved and accepted by everybody would bring him happiness. Later in the song, he says that the fame made him feel intoxicated. Separated. He then goes on to say that you can’t base your human value on those things.

How ironic is that? That someone as rich and famous as Bazzi would say that. As Christ believers, we know none of that is true. That our lives are only fulfilled through Jesus.

But during a hard season in life it can be easy to forget that.. There are times where I have thought man I’d be so much happier if I had this, this, and this. But then immediately eliminated those thoughts. Because that’s just not true, friend.

Because nothing in this world will make us more content than Jesus. NOTHING. All the fame, money, and friends will not fill you up. Jesus fills you up.

We see this many many times in the Bible. Whenever Paul wrote Colossians 3:2 he tells us to set our minds on things above. Not things here on earth.

In 1 John 2:15-17, it’s telling us to not love the things of the world. That the desires of the flesh and desires of the eyes and desires of pride and possessions are not from the Father.

Do not seek worldly things friends. They will not fill you up. Fill your soul with Jesus. He fills us up. He gives us love, comfort, peace, joy. Not the world. Remember that, friend.🤍
